Capture Data About My Members - Creation of Fields
Objective
Explain how to create a form in JustGo, including feilds so member data can be captured during the membership purchase journey or managed later in the member portal. It ensures the field is configured correctly, saved, and ready for use in the purchase process.
Key Steps
1. Open
Field Management in the Club Section

- Navigate to the Club section in the main menu.
- Select Field Management.
- Use this area to create custom fields/forms for member records
and membership purchases.
2. Create a
New Form Field 0:48

- Click Add New Form.
- Enter a clear title for the field.
- Choose a field name that matches the data you want to collect.
- Example: create a field to capture how many days a member is
willing to volunteer.
3. Decide
Whether Members Can See or Edit the Field 1:04

- Choose whether to hide the form from members.
- Hidden: members cannot view or edit it in the portal.
- Visible: members can view and update it later.
- Confirm whether the field should be available only for staff
use or also for member self-service.
4. Build the
Form Layout and Add the Field Type 1:26

- Add optional layout elements such as:
- Headers for section titles
- Attachments if you need members to
upload files
- Grids for structured information
- Add the actual field using the appropriate input type.
- Available field types include:
- Paragraph text
- Check boxes
- Multiple choice
- Dropdowns
5. Configure a
Field (example) 2:12

- Select Multiple Choice for the volunteer-days example.
- Enter each answer option you want members to choose from.
- Mark the field as required if the response must be
provided.
- Review the options to ensure they match the business rule you
want to enforce.
6. Set Member
Visibility and Edit Permissions 2:35

- Open the form settings.
- Set the field to be viewable by the member if needed.
- Set the field to be editable by the member if you want
them to update it later.
- If you want the member to enter the information once and not
change it, disable editing.
7. Finalize
the Response Options and Save the Form 2:59

- Confirm the response options are correct.
- In the example, do not include a zero-day option if
members must volunteer at least one day.
- Click Save to store the form.
- Once saved, the field is ready to be added to the membership
purchase journey.
Cautionary
Notes
- Ensure the field title is clear and easy for staff and members
to understand.
- If the field is hidden, members will not be able to view or
update it in the portal.
- If the field is marked required, the membership purchase
process may not continue until it is completed.
- Double-check multiple-choice options before saving, since these
determine what responses members can submit.
- Be careful when allowing edit access, as members may change
data after submission if editing is enabled.
